Citizen reporting
What we handle
This service allows anyone to bring to the attention of the special services a fact that falls strictly within their area of competence. It does not replace the police, the gendarmerie, or the courts for other situations.
- Terrorist threat
- Cyberthreat targeting critical infrastructure
- Threat to national economic security
- Private disputes
- Neighbourhood disagreements
- Political disagreements
- Trade union, associative, religious or journalistic activity
This exclusion list protects the institution as much as the citizen: it prevents this service from drifting into informing on others. A report outside this scope is not processed and is not forwarded to any other authority through this channel.
This form is not anonymous
The reporting form offers no anonymisation. It records the identity of the person reporting, where provided, as well as the content of the report.
- Data retained: identity of the person reporting (if provided) and content of the report.
- Retention period: 90 days for reports that are not qualified, meaning those that do not lead to processing under the facts mentioned above.
- Access: an authorised officer of the special services, strictly within the scope of their duties.
No promise of anonymity is made, at any stage of this service. Avenues of appeal and arrangements for exercising rights over the data transmitted are detailed on the Your rights page.
